Welcome to Adobe® Photoshop® Elements 12. This document contains late-breaking product information, updates, and troubleshooting tips not covered in the Photoshop Elements documentation.

- Install Photoshop Elements with an account that has administrative privileges (not a Limited User Account if you are using Vista).
- For the easiest installation experience, quit any open programs, including virus protection software, before installing Photoshop Elements 12. Remember to re-enable virus protection once you have successfully installed the product.
- In some cases (regions), the installer files are installed to the Program Files folder; on Vista, the actual installed location is the Programs folder. (For non-English languages, the name of the folder may differ, for example, Programme in the German language).
- You do not need to uninstall previous versions of Photoshop Elements; some users prefer to keep the older, familiar version around as they come up to speed with the new version's features.
- If prompted, restart the computer after installing the program.

- Although it is not necessary to uninstall any previous version of Photoshop Elements, Adobe does not recommend switching between older and newer versions of the Photoshop Elements Organizer.
- Catalogs created in older version of the product would need to be converted to the latest version.
- Only the most recently used catalog is converted automatically. If you use multiple catalogs, start Photoshop Elements, go into Organizer, and use the File > Manage Catalogs command to search and convert other catalogs.
- Updating previous catalogs (more than 30,000 photos) can take over an hour (possibly a few hours, if the catalog is large, and from an older version of Photoshop Elements or Photoshop Album). Please be patient!
- Following file formats are no longer supported in Photoshop Elements and the corresponding files will not be imported into the new catalogs:
- JPEG 2000, Filmstrip (FLM), Wireless BMP (WBM, WBMP), PCX, Targa (TGA, VDA, ICB, VST), Photoshop RAW (RAW), PICT File (PCT, PICT), Scitex CT (SCT), Photoshop EPS (EPS), EPS TIFF Preview (EPS), Generic EPS (AI3, AI4, AI5, AI6, AI7, AI8, PS, EPS, AI, EPSF, EPSP).
- In addition, on Mac OS following formats are no longer supported: IFF Format, Photoshop 2.0, Alias PIX, PICT Resource
Online services: Availability of online services depends on geographical regions. For the correct services listing, launch Adobe Photoshop Elements (Organizer), and choose Edit > Preferences > Adobe Partner Services on Windows or Elements Organizer > Adobe Partner Services Location on Mac, and click the 'Choose' button to set your location.
Deactivating: Please ensure that your system date is correctly set for proper deactivation or registration of the product.
Windows and Mac OS parity: Elements Organizer is available on Mac OS as well as on Windows. Although to a large extent, Organizer has the same set of features on both platforms, a few features are not yet available on Mac in this cycle. Some such features are the Slide Show creation tool, Watched folders, Burning or Backup to CD/DVD and Sharing via Photo Mail. There may also be other differences in workflows or shortcuts, some of which are OS-specific.
Japanese IME tools and Online Services: If you use a Japanese IME tool with certain input methods like Hiragana, using online services such as Share to Facebook, Share to Flickr may cause a crash of Organizer. Users are requested to avoid using the IME tool or close and relaunch Organizer after each usage of such online services.

In most cases, you can remove Photoshop Elements 12 by running its uninstaller. You can access the installer from the Programs and Features item in Windows 7 and Vista. Of, if you have Windows XP, you can access the uninstaller in the Add Or Remove Programs item in the Control Panel.
If Photoshop Elements 12 isn't listed in the Control Panel, or you receive an error when you try to uninstall it, then you can manually remove it. Manually uninstalling also ensures that the application has been removed completely from your computer.
Note: Some of the steps below require you to identify specific details about the edition of Windows you are using. If you do not know these details, see Determine whether your computer is running a 32-bit or a 64-bit edition of Windows.
Note: It's possible that your system doesn't contain all of the files, folders, and registry entries listed below. If you can't locate a particular file, folder, or registry entry on your computer, then proceed to the next item in the list.
Choose Start > Control Panel, or Start > Settings > Control Panel.
Do one of the following:
- Windows XP: Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
- Windows 7, Vista: If the Control Panel is in a Control Panel Home view, then click Uninstall a Program under Programs.
- Windows 7, Vista: If the Control Panel is in Classic View, then double-click Programs and Features.
In the list of installed programs, select Adobe Photoshop Elements 12, and then click Uninstall or Remove.
Click Remove, and then follow the remaining onscreen instructions to complete the removal.
After you uninstall Photoshop Elements 12, perform the remaining tasks below to ensure that the application has been removed completely.
The Watch Folders service runs in the background on your computer. The service detects photos that you add to folders that are on the Organizer's watch folder list. If this service is running, then you can't remove all of the folders listed in the next section.
Choose Start > Run (Windows XP) or click Start (Windows 7 and Vista).
In the list of services, locate Adobe Active File Monitor V12. Sketchup pro 2018 for mac free download. If it is not listed, skip this section.
Right-click Adobe Active File Monitor V12, and then do one of the following:
- Choose Stop from the pop-up menu. Proceed to the next step.
- If Stop is unavailable (it is dimmed), then the service is already stopped. Proceed to the next step.
Back up any personal files you want to save from the following folders, and then delete the folders and files for your edition of Windows.
Note: Some of the folders below are hidden. By default, Windows Explorer does not display hidden files and folders. To show these hidden folders, see Show hidden files, folders, and filename extensions.
